Wood Bioenergy US, September/October 2014 Issue How Wood Demand from Bioenergy Affects Forecasted Pulpwood Prices in the South

Description

Wood Bioenergy US (WBUS) is a publication by Forisk Consulting that tracks, screens, and analyzes the wood bioenergy sector in the United States. A key driver of pine pulpwood prices remains the project and market-specific assumptions related to wood bioenergy.  The analysis in this issue’s feature article draws from research and models from the Forisk Forecast to illustrate the incremental impact of wood bioenergy markets and the critical impacts of project-specific assumptions. Projections for pulp and paper demand indicate that declines in newsprint and printing and writing paper production will be offset by increased paperboard production.  Overall demand for wood used to make pulp for paper will decline negligibly, if at all. For the U.S. South, 71% of the increase in stumpage prices is associated with increased demand from viable wood bioenergy projects.

The September/October 2014  issue will be useful for investors, analysts, and executives interested in wood bioenergy markets in the United States, especially regional considerations for wood bioenergy investments.
