Introduction
Oriented Strand Board (OSB) is an important sector in the forest products industry, with top North American producers making 26.5 BSF (3/8” basis) in 2025. Chris King, Senior Analyst and Product Manager for the Forisk Wood Fiber Review (WFR), assessed the top producing companies of last year and ranked them by North American and U.S. capacity. The ranking was published in the Q2 Forisk Research Quarterly (FRQ) report for subscribers.
OSB Producers
Nine North American companies encompass the entire OSB sector, manufacturing 26.5 BSF (3/8”) in 2025. Seven OSB firms operate in the United States. U.S. producers manufactured 17 BSF of OSB, 64% of North American production. West Fraser produced the most OSB, both in the U.S. (4.5 BSF) and in North America (7.8 BSF). Louisiana-Pacific Corp was the second-largest producer, with 2.6 BSF manufactured in the U.S. and 4.1 BSF in North America. Georgia-Pacific was the third-largest North America producer with 3.3 BSF, and Huber Engineered Wood was the third-largest U.S. producer with 2.6 BSF in 2025.
